In the 1960s, Klaus Müller-Blech, son of Heinz and Inge, spent countless hours in the glass workshop of his parents in Neustadt, Germany. At the same time, also in Neustadt, Birgit Eichhorn Jeremias-Sohn grew up in her family glassblowing business, learning various aspects of the profession, including design. Both grew to love the art of glass and realized it was undeniably ingrained into their spirit. However, the two glassblowing enthusiasts had never met.
In 1992, both Klaus and Birgit attended a convention in the U.S. for antique Christmas ornament collectors. Hand-crafted European ornaments had become cherished collector's items and both Klaus and Birgit were hoping to find antique treasures. Little did they realize at the time that they each would go home to Germany with the biggest treasures of their lives - each other! Each had traveled over 3,000 miles to finally meet for the first time.

Klaus and Birgit's story is reminiscent of a great romance novel. They fell in love and married. Eventually their glass-blowing families joined forces and combined their tradition and skills at the Inge-Glas® workshops in Neustadt. Together their collection includes more than 6,000 antique ornament moulds dating from the 1850s. In addition, Birgit creates new designs each year to represent current Christmas trends and everyday traditions.
